At Spectrum Healthcare Training Center, our Nurse Aide Training (Hybrid Program) is designed for aspiring healthcare professionals who want flexibility without compromising hands-on experience.
This program combines online learning with in-person skills training and clinical exposure, allowing students to balance their studies with work or family commitments while gaining the real-world experience needed to succeed.
Program Overview
Our Hybrid Nurse Aide Training includes:
✅ Online Theory Classes
Learn foundational concepts such as:
- Basic nursing skills
- Infection control
- Patient safety
- Communication skills
- Anatomy and physiology basics
- Ethics and professionalism
Students can complete theoretical lessons at their own pace within the scheduled timeline.
✅ On-Site Skills Training
Hands-on practice in our simulation lab, including:
- Vital signs monitoring
- Proper patient positioning and transfers
- Bathing and grooming assistance
- Feeding technique
- Basic emergency response
✅ Supervised Clinical Training
Students complete a minimum of 21 hours of supervised clinical training in a long-term care facility, as required by Massachusetts regulations. Clinical training provides hands-on experience delivering direct resident care under instructor supervision.

Technology Requirements for Hybrid Program
To successfully participate in the hybrid format, students must have:
- Reliable internet access
- A computer or laptop (smartphones alone are not sufficient)
- Webcam and microphone capability
- Basic computer literacy skills
- Ability to access email and online learning platforms
Students who do not meet the technology requirements may not be able to complete the online portion of the program.
Program Completion
Students who successfully complete all required classroom, laboratory, and clinical components will receive a Certificate of Completion for the Nurse Aide Training Program.
Graduates may then apply to take the Massachusetts Nurse Aide state competency examination. State testing fees apply.
Online Participation Disclosure
Students enrolling from states outside Massachusetts are responsible for determining whether this program meets their home state licensing or approval requirements. Spectrum Healthcare Training Center makes no representation regarding out-of-state professional licensure requirements.
State Competency Examination Information
Students are responsible for the Massachusetts CNA State Exam fee of $110. Candidates may contact the test vendor, D&S Diversified Technologies, at (888) 401-0462 or email massachusetts@hdmaster.com to register. The written portion of the certification exam is available in English, Spanish, and Chinese. If retesting is required, the fees are $30 for the Knowledge Exam retake, $40 for the Audio Knowledge Exam, and $70 for the Skills Test retake.
